Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join the administrative team of a well-established private country club and golf course in Fresno. This is a hands-on accounting position responsible for managing the club's day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, membership payments, bank reconciliations, collections, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of well-rounded bookkeeping or accounting experience and is comfortable independently managing both A/P and A/R functions in a busy professional environment. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Vendor Management Process vendor invoices and prepare payments accurately and on schedule Maintain vendor records and research invoice or payment discrepancies Review invoices and expenses associated with facility improvements, repairs, maintenance, and club projects Verify appropriate documentation and approvals prior to payment Maintain accurate A/P records and supporting documentation Accounts Receivable & Membership Accounting Receive and accurately apply membership payments to member accounts Maintain accurate member account balances and payment records Research and resolve payment discrepancies Monitor past-due accounts and communicate professionally with members regarding outstanding balances Make collection calls and follow up on delinquent membership accounts Maintain appropriate documentation of collection activity and payment arrangements Banking & General Accounting Perform daily bank and deposit reconciliations Reconcile deposits against accounting records and identify discrepancies Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger information Assist with month-end accounting and financial reporting Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding Support the overall financial management and accounting needs of the club Maintain organized financial documentation and confidential member information Qualifications Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required Strong hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Strong experience performing bank reconciliations and deposit reconciliations Experience managing vendor payments and resolving account discrepancies Comfortable contacting customers or members regarding past-due balances and collections Strong attention to detail and ability to identify financial discrepancies Ability to manage multiple accounting responsibilities independently Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional demeanor and discretion when handling confidential financial and membership information Experience working within a country club, golf course, hospitality organization, membership-based business, property management company, or similar environment is a plus, but not required. Compensation & Schedule Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM Location: Fresno, California This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys having ownership over the day-to-day bookkeeping function and wants to work in a professional, member-focused private club environment.
