Lead Knitter

We're looking for a Lead Knitting Technician to join our team — someone who lives and breathes the art of crafting exceptional knitwear. In this role, you'll be at the heart of bringing our designs to life, ensuring every stitch embodies our commitment to both enduring style and functionality. Your Role: Collaboration and Creation: Work hand-in-hand with the design team and Production Manager to transform concepts into prototypes and production-ready styles, using top-notch yarns and materials to achieve the perfect blend of visual appeal and functionality. Machine Mastery: Serve as the go-to person for operating and maintaining various circular knitting machines, handling repairs, adjustments, and working with different gauges and cuts. Team Leadership: Lead the knitting team, guiding them through daily tasks and ensuring deadlines are met for development and production. Troubleshooting Expertise: Resolve production and development defects with precision, providing problem‑solving support. Oversight and Support: Oversee knitting associates to ensure operations run smoothly. Qualifications: At least 15 years of experience operating circular knitting machines, with proficiency across various types. In-depth knowledge of yarn fibers, knit structures, and their application in fabric development. Technical skill in mechanical and electrical maintenance of knitting machines, ensuring optimal machine performance and product quality. Strong attention to detail, capable of reviewing manuals, samples, and specifications with meticulous logging. Team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and fostering good working relationships. Physical Demands: Continuous standing, reaching, and occasional lifting (up to 75 lbs). Will be on feet during the work shift. Work Environment: Operate in a factory setting with access to knitting machines and associated equipment for the duration of the shift. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
