Construction Project Assistant - Commercial Millwork

This entry-level role involves supporting project management through documentation control, scheduling, vendor coordination, and communication facilitation. You will help manage project lifecycles, track material deliveries, and ensure accurate documentation to keep projects on track.

Job Details

• LOCATION: Wylie, TX 75098
• POSITION: Contract to hire
• SCHEDULE: 7AM – 4PM M-F
• PAY: 22.00hr

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating, organizing, and tracking project documentation including submittal logs, product data sheets, RFIs, and change orders.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal fabrication shops to ensure timely ordering and delivery of specialty hardware, lumber, veneers, and solid surfaces.
• Maintain and update project timelines, tracking milestones between shop production and General Contractor installation schedules.
• Serve as a key administrative contact, ensuring clear and timely communication between General Contractors, field teams, and internal staff.
• Support Senior Project Managers in budget tracking, compiling monthly progress billings, and organizing vendor invoices.
• Help compile closeout packages for General Contractors, including Operation & Maintenance manuals, material warranties, care instructions, and punch-list tracking.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of administrative experience in construction, manufacturing, or trade subcontractor environments (e.g., Project Assistant, Project Coordinator, Contracts Administrator).
• Strong mastery of Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional organizational skills with sharp attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project files simultaneously.
• Confident, proactive, and professional verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with commercial clients and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic ability to navigate architectural plan sets.
• Experience with Procore or manufacturing ERP software.
