Registered Nurse (RN)

This is an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work in a dynamic nursing environment focused on providing excellent patient care. The position requires coverage for night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Monitor and manage patients with various diagnoses including stroke, seizures, respiratory failure, and more.
• Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures as required.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions to enhance patient experience.
• Maintain patient records accurately using the EPIC charting system.
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements and skillset.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• At least one year of experience with the EPIC charting system is required.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Previous charge experience is required.
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:6.

Skills

• Experience with accessing and managing ports.
• Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP management.
• Competence in administering blood products and managing central lines.
• Ability to care for patients with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Proficiency in managing telemetry patients and recognizing dysrhythmias.
• Experience in wound care, including the use of wound vacs.

Special Procedures and Unit Details

The unit focuses on higher acuity medical-surgical patients and is dedicated to improving patient experience through specialized care. Procedures such as peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation are frequently performed.

Schedule and Orientation

Orientation for new hires is conducted every Monday, and a comprehensive onboarding process is mandatory for all new staff members.

Additional Information

All staff members are required to float to other units as necessary. Relevant competencies must be demonstrated and documented for qualified floating. The commitment to exceptional patient care is paramount in this role.
