Pay Rate: $61.00 / Hour (USD)
Shift / Schedule: Night shift, 18:45-07:15, 3x12 hours; every other weekend coverage

Job Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position on an inpatient MS/Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients, as well as higher-acuity med-surg patients. The unit is highly focused on patient experience and supports specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a stroke/TIA and higher-acuity med-surg unit
Float to other units based on need and skill set as required
Manage and care for patients with diagnoses including Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Syncope, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Cath, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, CHF, and Sepsis
Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
Perform and support specialized unit procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
Maintain staffing ratios of 1:6 on nights
Uphold the unit's strong focus on patient experience

Required Skills

Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required
Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
No first-time travelers - prior travel nursing experience required
Ability to float to other units based on need and skill set

Education Requirements

Active Tennessee (TN) RN license required
ACLS - required
BLS - required
NIHSS - required
Flu vaccination required; no exemptions

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing setting
Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience
Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Night shift position (18:45-07:15, 3x12 hours)
Every other weekend coverage required
Float required - may be floated to other units based on need and skill set
Staffing ratio: 1:6 (nights)
Patient age group: Adults and Geriatrics
Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
