Marketing Executive – Commercial Lines Marketing Executive Overview Under the direction of Marketing Leadership, this role is responsible for the effective marketing of insurance risks to companies. The incumbent works at a strategic level to develop and retain consultative relationships with customers, prospects, producers, service team members and insurance company underwriters, all in support of HUB New England’s retention and growth initiatives. The role requires a strong knowledge of industry trends and connectivity with carrier partners. Responsibilities Market all lines of commercial insurance with direct impact on revenue goals through the acquisition of new business and the retention of renewals. Negotiate coverage terms, structure, and pricing with underwriters through direct carrier relationships whenever possible and access preferred wholesale when necessary. Underwrite commercial accounts within delegated underwriting authority, guidelines, and procedures, when applicable. Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments within Hub International New England for the quoting of specialized lines of coverage. Assist producers with pre‑underwriting information gathering, coverage review/analysis and proposal preparation and presentations if needed. Execute a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered, assuring coverage, condition, rating, and pricing accuracy. Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, company visitations, and fair negotiations. Maintain state‑of‑the‑art knowledge of market underwriting appetite, line‑of‑business trends, insurance company changes, rating technique, and coverage development. Demonstrate an understanding of our company utilization strategies by appropriate risk submissions. Attend and participate in new business and renewal presentations to prospects and clients in support of producers and service team colleagues. Support the maintenance of new business and renewal control logs, which assist the department head in identifying trends. Work effectively and efficiently with other team members. Provide training and support to junior staff/team members in areas of competence. Ensure that HUB Way Marketing workflows are captured through utilization of agency management systems in accordance with HUB policies and procedures. Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager. Qualifications Seven plus years of experience in marketing or underwriting. Demonstrated ability to manage upper middle as well as large and complex property and casualty accounts; effectively market to carriers and customers; develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and prospects. Knowledge of all forms of property and casualty coverage rating. Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Excellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to work in a team environment. Licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker. Salary range: $100,000 – $130,000 annually, dependent on experience, location, and position scope.
