A Day in the Life of an Estimator

As an Estimator, you estimate projects using software such as Xactimate to create the scope of work. You work in collaboration with the Operations team by gathering field measurements, notes/plans, photo documentation, and materials necessary while using your understanding of roofing and the true costs of roofing to create accurate estimates and preliminary budgets. Your service-oriented mindset and positive disposition come through in every interaction, fostering strong relationships with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors and making collections activity a breeze.

You are a communicative, forward-thinker who proactively provides solutions for any problem that may arise, and ensures the appropriate parties are kept up to date. Responsibilities:

• Partner with leadership to define project scope and execute work plans
• Oversee budgets, estimates, and change orders to ensure profitability
• Ensure quality, safety, and compliance with company and industry standards
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and job activity records
• Produce accurate estimates using Xactimate, Excel, or other software
• Prepare project handoff documents and coordinate with Operations

Experience & Education:

• 2+ years in roofing construction
• Experience ensuring code compliance
• High school diploma required; degree preferred
• Valid driver's license required
