This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to manage technology infrastructure and Microsoft 365 projects from initial planning through implementation, validation, documentation, and project closure.

The Project Manager will coordinate engineers, installers, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure projects remain aligned with the approved scope, schedule, labor budget, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.

Projects may include network infrastructure refreshes, UniFi deployments, wireless projects, structured cabling, firewall and switch replacements, Microsoft 365 migrations, MFA implementations, tenant migrations, and other technology infrastructure initiatives.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills and enough technical understanding to coordinate technical teams, identify project risks, understand dependencies, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements Project Planning

• Lead project kickoff and establish the project workplan.
  
• Translate approved scopes of work into actionable project plans.
  
• Establish project schedules, milestones, maintenance windows, and dependencies.
  
• Coordinate engineering, low-voltage, telecom, vendor, and client resources.
  
• Confirm hardware, software, access, credentials, site requirements, and other project prerequisites.
  
• Establish project communication and status-reporting cadence.
  

Project Coordination

• Serve as the primary project contact for clients throughout the engagement.
  
• Coordinate engineers and field technicians responsible for implementation.
  
• Coordinate third-party vendors, internet service providers, telecom providers, electricians, and other required resources.
  
• Schedule site visits, installations, cutovers, testing, and validation activities.
  
• Ensure stakeholders understand upcoming work, expected downtime, and required actions.
  
• Track project progress against schedule and labor budgets.
  

Scope & Change Management

• Maintain the approved project scope and deliverables.
  
• Identify work that falls outside the defined scope.
  
• Document proposed changes and coordinate client approval before additional work is performed.
  
• Track changes that may affect schedule, labor, products, or services.
  
• Prevent scope creep while maintaining a positive client relationship.
  

Risk & Dependency Management

• Maintain project risk and dependency registers.
  
• Identify technical, scheduling, access, hardware, vendor, and client dependencies.
  
• Coordinate mitigation plans for identified risks.
  
• Ensure critical prerequisites are completed before production cutovers.
  
• Escalate material issues that may affect project completion.
  

Cutover & Implementation Management

• Coordinate approved maintenance windows and production cutovers.
  
• Ensure required technical resources, equipment, access, and rollback plans are ready.
  
• Coordinate client communications before planned outages.
  
• Monitor implementation progress and ensure validation activities are completed.
  
• Coordinate resolution of issues discovered during implementation.
  
• Confirm that acceptance criteria have been met before project closure.
  

Documentation & Closure

• Maintain project documentation throughout the engagement.
  
• Ensure technical documentation and configuration records are completed.
  
• Coordinate final validation and client acceptance.
  
• Confirm project deliverables have been completed.
  
• Prepare or coordinate project closing reports.
  
• Conduct internal support handoffs and ensure post-completion responsibilities are understood.
  

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience managing IT, infrastructure, telecommunications, Microsoft 365, or technology projects.
  
• Strong project organization and time-management skills.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Experience coordinating technical personnel and third-party vendors.
  
• Experience managing project schedules, dependencies, risks, and scope.
  
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical engineers and business stakeholders.
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  
• Strong understanding of change control and project acceptance processes.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing network infrastructure projects.
  
• Familiarity with UniFi and enterprise networking concepts.
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 migrations and Microsoft Entra.
  
• Experience managing structured cabling, telecom, or low-voltage projects.
  
• Experience with infrastructure cutovers and scheduled outages.
  
• Experience working in an MSP, technology integrator, IT services provider, or similar environment.
  
• Project management certification such as PMP, CAPM, or equivalent experience.
  

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of a project from kickoff through closeout. You do not need to perform every technical task yourself, but you should understand enough about networking, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and technology deployments to ask the right questions, recognize dependencies, and keep technical teams moving toward the agreed outcome.

The Project Manager should be a reliable client advocate and internal coordinator who keeps scope, schedule, communication, documentation, and project accountability under control.
