Psychiatric Technician

The Psychiatric Technician provides direct care and clinical services to in-patient psychiatric patients, assisting with daily living activities, social and psychiatric rehabilitation under RN supervision. The role requires effective communication with patients and the healthcare team, monitoring patient status, and participating in rounds and group therapy sessions. A minimum of two years recent experience, BLS certification, and an associate's degree in psychology or sociology are required. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and clinical services to psychiatric in-patients on an individual basis.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and social/psychiatric rehabilitation as directed by the RN.
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure access to required services.
• Inform the RN promptly of any changes in patient condition or behavior.
• Participate in patient rounds and group therapy sessions as needed.

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Psychiatric Technician.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Associate's degree in Psychology or Sociology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

• Work includes rotating day, evening, and night shifts.
• Must be available for holidays, weekends, on-call, and call-back as per unit needs.
• Position requires working in an inpatient psychiatric environment.
• Assignment limited to 48 hours per week.

• Rotating shifts covering day, evening, and night schedules.
• Shift assignments include holidays, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• 48 hours per week maximum workload.
