Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

Location: San Juan Capistrano, California Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Remote Compensation: $145,000-$175,000+ per year, depending on experience Bar Admission: Active California Bar membership required Experience: 1+ years of California labor and employment law defense experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join a growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience representing employers and corporate clients in a variety of labor and employment matters and will be comfortable handling cases from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload involving labor and employment disputes, including class actions, PAGA defense, and FEHA claims.
• Conduct discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
• Assist with and lead internal workplace investigations.
• Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to corporate clients regarding employment-related risks and compliance.
• Develop litigation strategies and effectively advocate for clients throughout the dispute-resolution process.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop practical and effective legal solutions.

Qualifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• At least 1 year of experience practicing California labor and employment law, preferably on the defense side.
• Experience handling corporate labor and employment matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a client-focused approach.
