Planning and Scheduling Lead III - Early Project Development (FPSO & SURF)

We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Our client is expanding and seeking a Planning and Scheduling Lead III in Spring, TX.

Career Project Phase Focus: Early-Stage Project Development (Stages 1-3) / Pre FID

Responsibilities:

·        Supports the front-end planning of FPSO, SURF, and Offshore Pipeline projects during pre-Gate 1, Concept Selection, pre FEED, and all pre full funding stages. This role is responsible for developing high-quality, conceptual schedules and execution scenarios that enable the project team to evaluate options, identify risks and opportunities, and optimize overall project timelines.

·        The position supports multiple pre FID projects concurrently and works closely with the Early-Stage Team, including SURF, FPSO, and Contracting Leads as well as interfaces with Central Project Management P/S representatives. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, independent thinking, and the ability to document and communicate assumptions clearly.

Early-Stage Planning & Scheduling
• Develop conceptual, early-stage project schedules for FPSO, SURF and Offshore Pipeline projects during pre FID phases
• Support multiple active pre FID projects simultaneously, prioritizing work based on project maturity and decision needs
• Evaluate schedule drivers, interfaces, and high-level risks during early development
• Create integrated schedules that reflect informed alternative contracting and execution strategies
• Ensure Schedule deliverables satisfy the EM’s stage-gate and FID requirements
• Review and evaluate contractor-submitted schedules for accuracy, constructability, logic, sequencing, critical path and compliance with contract requirements
• Participate in contract bid evaluations
Scenario Development & Schedule Optimization
• Independently develop, analyze, and compare multiple execution and schedule scenarios
• Evaluate sequencing, phasing, contracting strategies, and integration approaches
• Identify opportunities to optimize project duration and critical path(s)
• Clearly articulate scenario differences, trade-offs, risks, and schedule drivers
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate closely with the Early-Stage Team, including:
o SURF leads
o FPSO leads
o Contracting and commercial leads
o Technical SME’s

• Interface with the Cost & Schedule Engineering group and to ensure alignment on assumptions, methodologies, and deliverables

·        Leverage historical schedules, execution benchmarks, and lessons learned from prior FPSO and SURF projects

·        Engage internal subject matter experts and established company contacts to validate assumptions

·        Contribute to the development and maintenance of early-stage planning templates, norms, and reference schedules

·        Documentation & FID Deliverables

·        Develop and clearly document schedule basis, assumptions, exclusions, and uncertainties

·        Ensure schedules meet internal governance standards and documentation requirements for FID readiness

·        Support review packages and planning narratives required for management and investment committee reviews

 

Requirements:

·        Experience with offshore developments; FPSO and/or SURF

·        Experience supporting early project phases (concept, pre FEED, FEED)

·        Primavera P6 advanced user

 

EXPERIENCE WITH FPSO & SURF IS A MUST

 

Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.

 

Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management

Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $119.00 – 120.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Work Schedule : Standard - 5 days on / 2 days off - 5 days on / 2 days off

Length of Assignment: Contract – hire
