They pride themselves on providing exceptional customer service while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture where employees are encouraged to take initiative, support one another, and grow professionally.This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term potential for the right candidate.Position SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for purchasing inventory and customer-specific products while ensuring timely delivery, accurate pricing, and strong communication between vendors, warehouse operations, and internal teams. This role requires someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and keeping multiple priorities organized in a fast-paced distribution environment.This position will work closely with purchasing leadership while serving as the primary Buyer for the Columbus location. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with teams across the organization.ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage purchase orders for stock, backorders, special orders, and direct shipments.Expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and proactively communicate delays.Resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and vendor-related questions.Monitor supplier price increases and maintain accurate purchasing records.Run and analyze daily and weekly purchasing reports using Excel.Maintain accurate product, vendor, and purchasing data within the ERP system.Partner with warehouse personnel to investigate inventory and receiving discrepancies.Assist with ongoing data cleanup and process improvements.Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to ensure efficient order fulfillment.Support additional purchasing and inventory initiatives as needed.QualificationsPrevious experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, or order expediting required.Experience working within a distribution, wholesale, or industrial environment strongly preferred.Understanding of purchasing fundamentals and inventory management.ERP experience required; experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) is highly preferred.Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including running reports and working with spreadsheets.Previous warehouse or inventory experience is a plus.Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.Columbus, OH, USOn-SiteLogistics & Warehousing Vaco$ 24.00 - 25.00 hourly contract-to-hire
