Experience: 2+ years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician preferred

Certifications: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
Must-Have: Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography


Description:
Under the limited supervision of the Neurodiagnostic Tech Educator or delegated team member, prepares patients for a combination of routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, Neuro Interventional radiology WADA and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) including diagnostic and investigative studies in the laboratory, at the bedside, and in critical care units.
Accurately measures and applies electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System.
Ensures that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
Documents a comprehensive patient history gathering appropriate information from patients, patient records, and family members to include seizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptoms, and medications.
Explains test procedures to patients and family members present.
Recognizes medical contraindications of activation procedures.
Performs neurodiagnostic procedures according to the standards of the laboratory under limited supervision.
Prepares testing supplies, exam rooms, and neurodiagnostic equipment according to the standards of the laboratory.
Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording.
Triage software error messages, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues related to patient care.
Assists with scheduling and checking in patients.
Reviews and clips continuous EEG files according to the standards of the lab.
Additional duties include charge capture and documentation.
