- Assess and evaluate communication needs across children, adults, and older adults utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans designed to meet both short-term goals and long-term aspirations regarding communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families for a unified approach to care.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families to maintain progress outside the clinic environment.
- Assist with inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring that every aspect of the treatment journey is seamless.
- Maintain timely and precise documentation in compliance with state, federal, and institutional standards.
- Engage in continuous education and collaborate with peers to stay abreast of evolving practices in your field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment approaches for various age groups, coupled with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing conditions.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
