Job Title: R&D Operations Technician

Location: Acton, MA
Duration: 3 months – potential conversion to FTE
Pay: $38.83/hour on W2
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Job Description:

We are seeking an R&D Operations Technician II to support R&D teams by managing devices, equipment, materials, inventory, and operational requests. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strong customer service skills , excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, configure, deploy, recover, and maintain R&D devices, equipment, and materials.
• Manage asset, inventory, assignment, location, and lifecycle records.
• Receive shipments, verify contents, label/tag assets, and maintain organized stockrooms using 5S principles.
• Perform inventories, audits, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Provide basic troubleshooting, configuration, and access support; escalate issues when required.
• Coordinate equipment repairs, calibration, maintenance, and replacements.
• Manage support requests, communicate status and delays, and ensure timely completion.
• Create and maintain SOPs, how-to guides, and operational documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service to R&D teams and cross-functional partners.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Associate/Technical degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
• Experience with inventory, asset management, technical support, R&D, laboratory, or engineering operations preferred.
• Ability to learn new systems, applications, and workflows quickly.
• Proficiency with common office and documentation tools.
• Ability to lift and safely handle up to 30 lbs.
