Job Title: Supplier Development Engineer

Location: Pelzer, SC

Job Summary:

The Supplier Development Engineer will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and improving suppliers for non-metallic components, particularly cowling assemblies. The role focuses on supplier capability, process excellence, quality systems, APQP/PPAP, tooling transfers, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and qualify new suppliers for non-metallic components
Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits, and feasibility reviews
Support tooling transfers and process readiness at supplier sites
Drive APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow activities
Review PPAP submissions, dimensional analysis, material certifications, and capability studies
Drive supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams
Support design reviews and new product launches

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
3 5 years of Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering experience
Experience with non-metallic manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, or composites
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow
Experience with supplier audits, capability assessments, and corrective actions
Knowledge of 8D, A3, 5-Why, Fishbone, DOE, SPC, and GD&T preferred
Ability to travel up to 40%
