Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health

Position Overview OAKWOOD SPRINGS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH HOSPITAL, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health. Job Type: Part‑time days, 24 hours a week (7a‑7p). This role supports the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence, utilizing specialized plan‑of‑care intervention and serving as a patient‑care innovator. Essential Functions Assess patients and plan care within set timeframes, documenting findings according to policies. Oversee and supervise the shift, delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc. Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed; deliver exemplary patient care by self and team. Monitor patients for changes of condition and respond accordingly, including notifying the physician. Follow hospital policy for medication administration. Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients. Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment plan goals are executed per hospital policies and demonstrated nursing competencies. Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients. Qualifications Associate's degree in nursing required. Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations. 1‑year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred. Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities. CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
