Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology, you will be an integral part of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. You will support patients through their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, ensuring they receive evidence-based and compassionate care within a dynamic hospital environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients receiving systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, including neutropenia, extravasation, and other treatment-related complications, and respond promptly. Assess and manage symptom burdens such as nausea, pain, mucositis, and fatigue through established clinical protocols. Maintain and care for central venous access devices, including PICCs, ports, and tunneled catheters, following institutional policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology teams to develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans. Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families, guiding them through diagnosis, treatment options, and goals of care. Document patient care activities accurately, ensuring compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation standards. Qualifications & Requirements: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology or medical-surgical nursing. Valid and current RN license (Compact license preferred). BLS certification required. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) designation is preferred. Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification (ONS) is highly desirable. Strong clinical assessment skills, compassionate bedside manner, and excellent communication abilities.
