Details Post-surgical Ortho/Med-Surg unit with 22 beds and 36 staff members Patient ratio of 1:5 with ancillary support Common procedures include Tarlov/meningeal cyst removal, joint reconstruction, hip and knee surgery, and lumbar/cervical disc and orthopedic spine surgery Equipment used includes PCA pumps, ice machines, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, telemetry boxes, and IV pumps Uses Meditech EMR Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM No on-call requirements Frequent floating within the facility to Telemetry, with occasional floating to another facility location 13-week assignment length Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience required Ortho experience and PCU experience preferred No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months US SSN and DOB required for consideration Professional reference required (two references required for Florida and Missouri candidates) Additional Information Provide post-surgical nursing care to orthopedic and spine patients Heavier patient volume typically occurs mid-week, requiring flexibility with scheduling Excessive RTO requests will not be approved Energetic, team-oriented personality is a strong fit for this unit Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-721611.
