Geographic Information Systems Specialist

GIS Specialists are data production employees that perform several advanced data production functions within a project by analyzing utility maps, sketches, field photographs, and tabular data. In this position, GIS Specialist team members will also perform QA, provide training as needed, and create project documentation.Do you have the right skills and experience for this role Read on to find out, and make your application.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesCreate and/or maintain advanced data production functions (for gas, electric, or telecommunication commodities) using GIS-related softwareWorking knowledge of all project tools/specifications to complete workPerform data quality control functionsConsistently exceeds the productivity standards per project requirementsConsistently exceeds the quality standards per project requirementsOccasional involvement in project start-ups and client interaction as neededProduce project specific documentation as neededTravel, on a limited basis, as neededPerform other duties as assignedPreferred Skills1-5 years of related GIS experienceWillingness and ability to gain an advanced understanding of commoditiesExperience in editing, manipulating, and analyzing data within GISConsistently detail oriented, organized, and quality focusedAbility to work under minimal supervisionAdvanced oral and written communication skillsAbility to communicate issues and potential solutions effectivelyTakes the initiative to learn new thingsProficient working knowledge with ESRI GIS softwareExposure to or initial training in ArcPro or Utility Network (UN)Proficient working knowledge with Microsoft OfficeEducation, Certifications, and/or ExperienceDegree in Geography, Computer Science, a related field, and/or equivalent work experience. xhyhwjd Relevant certifications are preferred, but not required.
