Job Description

AECOM ?is seeking multiple Archaeology Technician's for immediate employment within our Cultural Resources team in the Midwest. This is a remote, part-time, on-call position, meaning workdays and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The Archaeological Technician primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Immediate f ield projects needs will primarily be in Ohio and Illinois. Candidates will need flexibility to travel overnight for field work sessions.? The duration of these projects will run through September-December and may extend longer, which will be weather dependent.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.

• May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.

• Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

• Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate.

• 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork.??

• Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification are required.

• Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's?Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring.

• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desired.

• Experience with Geospatial technology including GPS and GIS.

• Computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $22 to $28.
