Family Law Legal Assistant (On-site)

This is an on-site role in our downtown Seattle office . Reed Longyear is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Family Law practice. Reed Longyear is a well-established and long-standing general practice firm in downtown Seattle with strong ties to the local community. We are close to transit centers, ferries, and the King County courthouse. We cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and offer good benefits and friendly co-workers. Responsibilities include :

• Communicate with clients, including initial intake and coordinating appointments
• Maintain and update attorney calendars
• Provide administrative support to paralegals and attorneys on a wide variety of complex and confidential legal matters
• Manage, organize, and maintain paper and electronic documents according to firm-wide standards
• Input information into file database and case management software
• Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents
• Prepare mailings, messenger service, and court filings
• Provide phone and administrative support to reception

Qualifications :

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree
• Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a legal support role
• High degree of professionalism, discretion, and empathy when dealing with sensitive client matters
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (legal case management software is a plus)
• High proficiency and accuracy with calendaring software
• Ability to work independently, manage complex workloads, and meet deadlines

Compensation Range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually (DOE)
