Role Description Strata Alliance seeks a sophisticated Trust and Estates Attorney to work with our family office clients who are either high net worth or anticipating a future liquidity event. Candidates should have significant experience and strong technical skills in estate and trust planning, estate administration, and general business tax. The position requires collaboration with our families' personal CFO, wealth advisors, and business valuation specialists for effective, long-term planning with a focus on tax mitigation strategies and generational wealth transfer. Duties and Responsibilities Create and draft estate plans for high-net-worth clients in collaboration with in-house accountants/family CFO Advise shareholders of closely held corporations on estate and gift tax issues, executive compensation issues, and business succession General tax planning for corporate clients Work closely with clients’ other professional advisors on plan creation and execution including legal, accounting, and finance Stay up-to-date and be able to advise clients on relevant state and federal tax laws Advise on charitable contributions and formation and operation of charitable foundations Review gift and estate tax returns Regularly engage and communicate with clients Areas of Expertise and Background Succession planning Asset protection planning Income tax planning Charitable giving Estate and trust planning and administration Guardianship Probate administration (preferred but not required) LL.M.
