This position provides leadership in grant development by collaborating with faculty, staff and leadership to identify funding opportunities, develop competitive proposals and align grant initiatives with institutional priorities. Success in this role involves assessing funding opportunities for risk and feasibility, guiding stakeholders through the pre-award process and ensuring compliance with federal, state and private grant requirements. This position contributes to institutional objectives by securing external funding to support academic programs, research initiatives and strategic projects, serving as Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR), supporting compliance with post-award processes, and fostering innovation and growth within the college. Primary office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This hybrid position requires two days per week in the office with the opportunity to work remotely the other days of the week. ResumeFailure to submit these documents by the first consideration date will result in your application being ineligible.Duties/Responsibilities:Advances institutional funding opportunities by leading grant proposal development and management, collaborating with faculty, staff, and leadership to align projects with strategic priorities and funding requirements.Strengthens the institution's competitive positioning for grants by evaluating funding opportunities, analyzing risk, and ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance requirements.Serves as an Authorized Organizational Representative, communicating on behalf of the College with federal and state program officers regarding grant-related changes, requests, facilitating new awards, and leading desk audits.Leads PIs through the grant development process, including mentoring on best practices, advising on funding opportunities, communicating with program officers, and managing awards.Organizes, prepares, reviews, and finalizes materials and trainings for job aids, presentations, and policies related to sponsor funding, compliance, and other grant-related topics.Enhances the efficiency and integrity of the grant acquisition process by developing and refining pre-award policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.Builds grant-proposal writing capacity across the institution by designing and delivering workshops that equip faculty and staff with the knowledge and skills to develop competitive proposals.Ensures compliance and effective collaboration with funding agencies by serving as the primary liaison to federal program officers, providing critical guidance on grant administration.Secures funding and maintains compliance by managing grant submissions and revisions, serving as the Authorized Organization Representative, and overseeing the accurate and timely processing of applications through federal and other grant systems.Contributes to an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Advanced knowledge of federal and state grant regulations.Advanced knowledge of grant development, proposal writing, and budgeting principles.Skill in data analysis and interpretation.Skill in analyzing grant funding opportunities.Ability to design and execute training related to grant management and development.Ability to prioritize and manage workloads to ensure timely completion of assignments, adherence to deadlines, and effective workflow distribution.Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, including training and dissemination of information to others.Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.Strong collaboration skills.Ability to adopt and learn systems, processes, and new technology.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree required. An associate's degree may be considered with equivalent additional relevant work experience.Experience:4-6+ years of relevant, professional, and progressive work experience.Experience developing, writing, and submitting large federal and private grants from a variety of federal and private agencies.While not required, experience in higher education grant proposal writing/office of sponsored programs a plus.Madison College does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
