This assignment involves delivering exceptional care in a renowned Eastern Nebraska medical center within fast-paced PCU and MedSurg units. Your role will include engaging with various patient populations, particularly oncology and trauma cases. Schedule/Hours:

• 36 hours weekly (13-week contract)
• 12-hour shifts available: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, and other options
• Every other weekend
• Self-scheduling for flexibility

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with minimum 1 year PCU/MedSurg experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification; ONS/ONCC preferred, not required
• Demonstrated teamwork mentality and compassionate care mindset
• Willingness to float within similar units and adapt to new challenges
• Respect for diversity and commitment to patient-centered care
• Must pass open-book orientation exam with 90% or higher

Responsibilities:

• Care for oncology and trauma patients in a mixed-acuity setting (PCU ratios 1:4, MedSurg 1:5)
• Occasionally titrate drips (cardizem, insulin, chemotherapy)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing assistants, physical therapy, case managers)
• Participate in hourly rounding, ensuring excellent patient experiences
• Support and respect patients from diverse backgrounds with empathy and professionalism
