Attorney - Title Opinions

Job Overview You will render title opinions, conducting title examinations across mineral, leasehold, and surface estates on private, state, and federal lands, supporting operators and investors from Fortune 500 to E&P start‑ups. Salary: $120,000 – $250,000 per year. Benefits Base salary range: $120,000 to $250,000 plus bonuses Unique compensation model with immediate returns for business you generate Profit sharing eligible from day one Employer‑covered health insurance 401(k) with firm match Collegial atmosphere and relaxed office attire Full‑spectrum oil and gas platform under one roof Job Responsibilities Render original drilling, supplemental, division order, due diligence, and limited‑scope title opinions covering oil and gas, leasehold, and surface estates. Examine and analyze chains of title across private‑owned, state‑owned, and federal lands, interpreting leases, JOAs, farmout agreements, unit declarations, easements, probate records, affidavits, liens, and trust and corporate succession documents. Draft title curative requirements and transactional documents needed to cure defects identified in diligence. Perform legal due diligence on multi‑million‑dollar acquisitions and divestitures, quantifying title defects into monetary amounts to support PSA negotiations. Prepare ownership analyses covering lessor royalty, non‑participating royalty, overriding royalty, and working interests; negotiate and document associated energy transactions. Qualifications Active license and good standing in an oil and gas producing state (e.g., Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania). At least 2 years of transactional energy experience focused on title examination and title opinion. Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
