Accountant

Overview As a key member of the Accounting team, this position will be responsible for preparing journal entries and have an integral role in month-end reporting. The Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls, including end-user computer applications controls, are designed and effectively implemented. The Accountant will also assist in the preparation of account reconciliations, updating workpapers, and compiling ad hoc audit requests. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral Highly competent in the use of the MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio) Experience with data analysis tools is an asset Self-confidence, critical thinking, ability to influence, ability to work independently and willingness to work extended hours (if necessary) High level of time management and organizational skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Prior accounting internship or position within the accounting field Experience with accounting platforms such as Quickbooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, CMS/Epicor or OneStream Understanding of internal control concepts Progress towards CPA or equivalent qualification Responsibilities Preparation of journal entries Understanding of the basic financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, and trial balance) Understanding of design and operation of internal controls Review monthly financial information to ensure reasonability Preparation of account reconciliations and ability to investigate variances in timely manner Takes ownership of workpapers and looks to improve/update workflows to maximize efficiency Plan, coordinate and execute various ad hoc queries and reports used by all management levels in development of key strategy and operational decision making #J-18808-Ljbffr
