Job Description B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group is a subsidiary of the largest private real estate company in the Washington, D.C. area, operating a portfolio of more than 20 business‑class hotels, including brand major properties and independent hotels owned by the Group. We are looking for a dedicated individual to assist in engineering operations, including maintenance, repair of hotel property, outside grounds, hotel equipment, preventative maintenance and asset protection, ensuring guest satisfaction and adhering to B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group’s high standards of quality. Responsibilities Engineering: Learning and demonstrating the ability to maintain property assets. Working with the Chief Engineer to understand preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections and capital expenditures, and the impact on the hotel’s financial success. Guest service: Assisting and responding to guest requests in a friendly and positive manner, providing the highest level of service and knowledge of property repairs and common‑area maintenance. Identifies concerns and provides maintenance solutions: Assessing and evaluating property assets through preventative maintenance, working with appropriate managers to recommend maintenance service solutions. Follows standard operating procedures: Learning, understanding and executing all engineering SOPs in collaboration with the Chief Engineer. Works collaboratively with all others: Acting as a team player to meet guest needs and contributing to the efforts of other departments when necessary, completing all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities. Works safely: Maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, local, state and federal regulations; using personal protective equipment when needed; following all procedures for guest/associate incidents and being knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures. Self‑management: Producing required volume of work by planning, organizing and prioritizing duties as presented by the Chief Engineer; adhering to attendance and department rules; attending all required meetings. Required Skills and Experience High School diploma or GED. CPO and appliance repair certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs. At least 2 years of maintenance experience. Attention to detail, customer focus and ability to perform job duties in a fast‑paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
