Accounting Analyst

Overview WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Associate Accounting Analyst for our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with financial/accounting controls. Perform closing procedures including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Collaborate and assist with the preparation of forecasts and budgets. Monitor the integrity of systems and general ledger transactions. Prepare internal and external financial reports. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, Sarbanes‑Oxley, and various commission reporting. Provide backup and rotation of responsibilities. Analyze large amounts of data and maintain complex spreadsheets. Utilize various forecasting, reporting, and general ledger software. Provide communication related to financial statements, data requests, and month‑end closing processes. Proactively improve processes and business solutions. Work additional hours during certain times of the month. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business‑related discipline. Preferred Qualifications 2 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. The ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly. Attention to detail, strong initiative, and results‑oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Experience with SAP general ledger or another ERP system preferred.
