Job Description

We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our team supporting College of Medicine & Science. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in user interface design, prototyping, and component-based web design and a proven ability to translate research insights into accessible, responsive interfaces and detailed developer-ready specifications .

Responsibilities:

• Contribute across all stages of the design process, including wireframing layouts, creating responsive mockups, and preparing UI documentation for developer handoff.
• Represent users to ensure interfaces follow best practices across devices and meet accessibility standards.
• Participate in UX research to define solutions that address user needs and goals.
• Incorporate UX findings and brand identity into reusable design patterns that enrich the user experience.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to refine navigation, interaction patterns, and digital storytelling.
• Work within a component-based CMS and partner with content contributors to design engaging page layouts.
• Develop and adapt design specifications for front-end developers with attention to feasibility and performance.
• Build empathy for current and prospective learners to inform design decisions.
• Maintain awareness of contemporary design practices in higher education and academic medicine.
• Advocate for inclusive, accessible, user-centered design across products.
• Communicate design decisions to stakeholders and align them to business objectives.
• Foster strong relationships and collaborate with a close-knit team to deliver high-quality work on schedule.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• At least 5 years producing user interface designs with measurable impact.
• Proficiency with Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS and the basics of front-end development.
• Experience with content design, UX writing, SEO, and content strategy fundamentals.
• Expertise in UI methods, including prototyping, interaction flows, wireframes, and interface specifications, with strong visual design skills.
• Current knowledge of digital and interaction design principles and trends.
• Ability to articulate complex design problems and solutions with clear communication and presentation skills.
• Portfolio showing end-to-end design deliverables for products or websites.
• Experience addressing accessibility for digital products, including optimization for assistive technologies.
• Education: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Skills:

• Healthcare or higher education experience.
