Safety Coordinator – Commercial Electrical Construction
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: On-site / In Person
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and field-oriented Safety Coordinator to support commercial electrical construction projects. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with project teams to promote safe work practices, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies.
- Facilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
- Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries and track corrective actions.
- Verify proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
- Maintain safety records, training documentation, and inspection reports.
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to address safety concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience; electrical construction experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience working outdoors and on active construction sites.
- Safety management experience within the construction industry.
Required Certifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
- CHST, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, or similar safety certifications.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E.
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Knowledge of fall protection.
- Knowledge of energized electrical work practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and navigate uneven terrain.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
