Two immediate opportunities are now open at Churchland Elementary and North Davidson Middle School, both offering an enriching environment for educators passionate about special education.
Bring your expertise and commitment to supporting students with diverse needs, working alongside collaborative school teams to create tailored learning experiences. You’ll play an integral role in fostering growth, independence, and confidence for elementary and middle school students requiring adapted curriculum support.
Qualifications:
- Current, active North Carolina Special Education Certification
- Adapted Curriculum endorsement strongly preferred
- Previous experience working with students with significant cognitive or developmental disabilities is highly desired
- Strong skills in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to cultivate a positive, encouraging classroom environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver adapted curriculum instruction to meet individual student goals
- Develop, update, and execute IEPs in collaboration with fellow specialists and family members
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies based on student needs
- Foster skills in communication, daily living, and social interaction
- Engage with families and caregivers to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
