School: Spring #5685503. Summer Program: ESY Special Education. Dates / Hours: June 29 – August 6. Monday–Thursday weekly planning meetings, pre and post‑work, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (subject to change based on enrollment). Work Location: Bartlett School & Assessment Center. Summary: Provides support for students within the building that may or may not be in a specialized education program. Responsibilities Accurately completes all required documentation and data collection daily. Works with an individual student to reinforce learning of material or skills as described in the IEP/treatment plan. Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of the individual student, his/her needs, interests, and abilities. Assists the student throughout the school environment as necessary. Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about the individual student. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about the student as expected of fully licensed teachers. Participates in in‑service training programs as assigned. Performs other general duties as indicated by the Director of Special Education, Superintendent/Building Principal or their designee and policies of the Haverhill School Committee. Qualifications Requirements Sixty semester hours of postsecondary work or an associate degree. Safety Care Training Required. Bilingual preferred. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
