In-Home Family Services Specialist – Algona, IA Looking for meaningful work that transforms lives? As an In-Home Family Services Specialist you’ll support families in their own homes—helping them build stronger relationships, develop parenting skills, and overcome challenges. Your guidance can keep families together and give children the foundation they deserve. Compensation & Benefits Starting Pay: $20.50–$23.50/hr Full‑time or Part‑time – Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on‑call hours Hiring Bonus: $2,500 Benefits: Reduced or no‑cost medical visits at Boys Town locations, free mental health visits with in‑network providers, generous 401(k) match, tuition assistance, parenting resources, paid time off and flexible scheduling. Responsibilities Provide in‑home support and teach practical skills to strengthen families. Connect families with community resources such as schools, healthcare, and social services. Offer crisis intervention and guidance when needed. Build strong relationships with families and collaborate with teachers, doctors, and social workers. Develop service plans, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field and 1 year of experience working with children and families. In rural Iowa, an Associate’s degree with 2 years of experience, or 4 years of combined education and experience. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Bilingual skills are a plus.
