Salary: $59,696.00 - $71,635.20 Annually Location: Clayton - St. Louis County, MO Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2026-00232 Department: Revenue - Director of Revenue Opening Date: 06/24/2026 Closing Date: 7/8/2026 11:59 PM Central Description The St. Louis County Department of Revenue seeks an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee an accounting section and perform professional accounting work. Benefits Competitive pay range of $28.70 - $34.44 hourly based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package including medical insurance, 20 days PTO in the first year (increasing with seniority), 11-12 paid holidays. St. Louis County defined benefit retirement plan with 4% employee contribution and seven‑year vesting. Up to 480 hours of paid parental leave (as of January 1, 2023), plus additional prenatal and child care leave options. Paid life insurance, disability insurance, credit union membership, 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, pre‑tax premium pay, and dependent care reimbursement. Key Duties Oversee daily workflow of lower-level staff, providing support as needed. Manage processing of invoices, contracts, contract amendments, purchase orders, and supplemental agreements. Assist in budget planning. Support the Accounting Manager in implementing new processes and policies. Resolve account discrepancies, correct assessments, data entry errors, and misapplied or erroneous payments. Enforce policies and procedures; monitor accounts to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate activities of subordinates. Assign and review subordinates’ work. Approve subordinates’ time off. Prepare and sign performance appraisals. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and four years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience. Must be current in the payment of personal and real property taxes in St. Louis County. Preference Public sector work experience. Supervisory experience.
