Field Tech

Location: Louisville, Kentucky (Remote)

Role Overview

The Field Engineer II plays a critical role in implementing, upgrading, and consolidating corporate networking systems across an enterprise, multi‑platform environment. This role supports mission‑critical installations, ensures compliance with corporate security standards, and maintains high availability across local and wide‑area networks.

Key Responsibilities

Provide onsite and remote support for enterprise locations using corporate technology.

Lead and support LAN/WAN projects at a global level.

Architect, install, configure, and monitor network hardware and data communication systems.

Troubleshoot and support network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, CSU/DSUs, T1, B1, DSL, and PRI.

Diagnose complex networking issues involving telco backbone, fiber, cabling, telephony, and MPLS.

Participate in an on‑call rotation for critical support.

Execute IT changes while minimizing business disruption.

Install and support end‑user equipment such as printers and peripherals.

Travel 50–80% to support field operations.

Maintain compliance with company policies, including the Code of Business Conduct and HIPAA.

Required Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma is required.

Experience: 4–6+ years of experience in a related technology field is required.

Technical Skills:

Advanced OS, hardware, and software troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, subnets, DNS, DHCP, and WINS.

Experience with network sniffing, cabling topologies, infrastructure, and rack/cable management.

Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications

An associate degree or relevant certifications are preferred.

6+ years of experience for advanced responsibilities.

Exposure to telecom, Windows, and Linux environments.

Certifications from Microsoft, Meraki, VMware, or CompTIA.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role that requires driving and work across multiple facilities. The position requires the ability to meet all physical and safety requirements associated with the role.
