Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - Experience with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes. - Candidates without travel experience may be considered if they have level I trauma center experience and Epic experience.

Unit Details: - Nurse: patient ratios 1:4-5 from 07-2300 and 1:5-6 from 23-0730. - Common diagnoses/types of patients include cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health, and addictions. - Heparin and Lasix drips are used; RNs are not required to titrate drips. - Free charge RN on each floor. - PCTs assist with vital signs, accucheks, bladder scans, and ADLs; ratio 1:8-10. - BiPAP/CPAP for sleep apnea, inhalers, and suctioning. - House-wide telemetry is monitored remotely; RNs can view strips on pack or computer. Philips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend (Sat/Sun for days). - Holiday requirement varies. - No call.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling allowed.

Floating Requirements: - Rotation to other acute care gen-med areas as needed, including nephrology, neuro, ortho, and oncology.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
