Respiratory Care Practitioner Registered – Tacoma, WA 98402 Position Summary The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for delivery of skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to selected patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. The role requires advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations, performing independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care, including establishing therapy and treatment objectives and reviewing care based on age and needs of the patient. The position operates independently under limited supervision with internal contacts including patient care staff and management, and external contacts including patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations. Requirements Graduate of an AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy Training program Registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Washington Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC required Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire (ACLS, NRP, PALS) depending on age of the population served Health Care Provider level CPR certification Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience in respiratory therapy and critical care preferred (CRT) Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum education qualifications. Pay and Benefit Expectations Competitive salary range: $40.83 – $67.48 USD. Pay is influenced by experience, skill set, and certifications.
