Payroll Specialist

MOSECO

Job Responsibilities Manage reports and timecard adjustments. Manage employee transfers, promotions, and terminations. Audit employee personnel files to ensure compliance. Verify hours worked for credentialing. Complete garnishments, paid sick leave adjustments, and KPI updates. Provide support to the HR team on HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that may arise. Direct employees to the appropriate HR Generalist/Specialist/Assistant based on qualifying reasons. Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict‑free workplace. Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies. Maintain timely and reliable attendance. Ensure compliance with all company and government regulatory standards in compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employment law, and diversity. Perform life‑saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees. Consistently apply trauma‑responsive practices to promote safety, trust, and healing. Train or assist in the trainings of co‑workers as required. Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in Human Resources (required). Completed 12 years of education or GED. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required or equivalent experience (required). HR Professional Designation Certification (preferred). Complete continuing education and trainings as required by Cedar House, County, and State mandates. Maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Outstanding interpersonal skills, maintaining productive working relationships with staff at all levels. High attention to detail. Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem‑solving skills. Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality. Champions the mission, culture, and objectives of the organization. Demonstrates value and respect for all employees. High energy and enthusiasm. Performs effectively as a team player. Values the ideas and opinions of others and routinely collects their input as part of the decision‑making process. Physical Requirements The physical requirements described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. They will also need to move around inside the office occasionally to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee must be capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. There may be occasions where the employee needs to climb up or down a ladder or equipment and position themselves to maintain files in file cabinets. It is essential for the employee to communicate information and ideas clearly so that others can understand. They must also be able to provide accurate information in these situations. The employee should be able to observe details at close range and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds for various reasons. Additionally, the employee may need to work around or be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Working Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
