Senior Technical Accountant

BFS Associates is recruiting for a Senior Technical Accountant in the Cambridge area. As a Senior Technical Accountant, you will support our external financial reporting process, including the preparation of SEC filings, financial statement disclosures, and technical accounting documentation. You will work with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, and external auditors to ensure and accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Responsibilities: Support the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K. Prepare financial statements, footnote disclosures, schedules, and supporting documentation for SEC filings. Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages and supporting schedules. Coordinate requests from external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits. Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation. Support SOX compliance activities and internal control documentation related to financial reporting. Help with remediation efforts and process improvements to strengthen internal controls. Conduct technical accounting research and assessments of complex transactions. (including collaboration arrangements), draft related memos, and coordinate assessments performed by external advisors. Support business development, FP&A, and other colleagues by researching and concisely communicating the accounting and financial statement impacts of proposed opportunities. Function as a key liaison for external auditors in areas of responsibility. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA license is a must. Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry preferred. At least five years of relevant experience, including in public accounting (“Big 4” firm preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules and principles, public company financial statement disclosure requirements. Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear, concise memos and related presentation deliverables, policy documents, and financial statement disclosures. Experience participating in external audits and working with independent auditors. Skill with Excel and other Microsoft Office suite applications. Experience with NetSuite accounting system preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
