We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing, strong knowledge of payroll regulations, and hands-on experience using ADP Vantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a timely and accurate manner.

• Review and validate employee timekeeping records, payroll data, and payroll transactions.

• Utilize ADP Vantage to maintain payroll records and process employee payroll changes.

• Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies, timecard exceptions, and employee payroll inquiries.

• Process employee deductions, garnishments, direct deposits, tax updates, and other payroll-related transactions.

• Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end payroll reporting activities.

• Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure employee data changes are accurately reflected in payroll systems.

• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and payroll information.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees.

• Hands-on experience with ADP Vantage is required.

• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, deductions, garnishments, and payroll compliance.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

• Effective communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

• 0-5 years of payroll experience.

• Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems.

• Exposure to payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end processing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tinley Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
