Job Description

Martin Painting, a leader in commercial and industrial coatings and painting services, is excited to announce a job opening for a full-time Commercial Coating Specialist. This position is based out of our Grove City, Ohio office located at 2040 Longwood Ave. Please note, this is not a remote job, and candidates will be expected to perform their duties on-site.

The position entails a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic and functional integrity of various commercial and industrial structures. Our Commercial Coating Specialists are vital in delivering quality services that comply with both aesthetic requirements and technical specifications, contributing to the durability and longevity of the properties we service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing detailed surface preparation including sanding, scraping, cleaning, and masking to ensure optimal adhesion and finish.
• Applying various types of coatings such as primers, sealers, undercoats, and finish coats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with all jobsite safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of equipment.
• Executing projects on various commercial and industrial properties, working diligently to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Working at heights, utilizing lifts, and scaffolding as projects dictate, ensuring adherence to safety standards at all times.
• Maintaining equipment and tools in good working condition, performing regular checks and maintenance routines.
• Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure cohesive operations and high-quality outcomes.
• Attending and participating in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated with the latest techniques and safety protocols.
• Providing feedback and reports on project progress and issues to supervisors, proactively addressing any potential delays or problems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial or industrial painting or coating applications.
• Must be clean shaven to ensure proper fitting and compliance with respirator safety standards.
• Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including at least two weekends per month, to meet project timelines.
• Ownership of a smartphone for effective communication and timekeeping through our mobile application.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in coating applications to meet quality standards.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, and operating machinery.
• Excellent teamwork skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
