Long Term Non-Perm On-Call Mental Health Clinician 3 Positions
The Department of Corrections, Division of Health & Rehabilitation Services, is recruiting for multiple Long Term Non-Perm On-Call Mental Health Clinician 3 positions at the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) located in Anchorage, Alaska.
What You Will Be Doing:
This position will be flexibly scheduled depending on the needs of the department to support the division's mission of providing timely access to essential care through an evidence-based multidisciplinary approach.
- Assist in the provision and oversight of mental health services in locations where staff support is needed, which may include traveling to multiple locations and telehealth from a DOC office.
- Conduct mental status examinations, clinical interviews, suicide assessments, risk assessments and treatment planning for incarcerated individuals with a wide range of mental illnesses, behavioral/characterological disorders, organic impairments, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities.
- Provide training to department employees on mental illness, suicide prevention and the department's policies and procedures.
- Review medical records to verify that mental health services and processes comply with established quality standards and support continuous improvement.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is based out of Anchorage, but may be assigned to correctional centers depending on the needs of the department including but not limited to, the correctional centers located in Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, Wasilla and Seward. This position will work onsite at an assigned location or via telehealth in an office setting and work closely with a team of other mental health clinicians, psychiatric providers, nurses, probation officers, medical staff and correctional officers.

Doctoral degree OR Master's degree from an accredited college in counseling, psychology, social work, child guidance, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field.

Typically gained by means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
Special Note:
Some positions require the incumbent be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Professional Counselor. This requirement will be addressed in the job posting.

Recruitment Difficulties Starting salary may be approved up to Step D - $44.91, if criteria are met.
