Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized peri-anesthesia care to patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The position offers a dynamic environment with diverse surgical and procedural experiences and requires previous ICU or PACU experience.
Job Details:
- Shift: Rotating 3, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:30 to 07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Maryland or Compact RN license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); 2 years of experience; travel experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, trauma level I, II, or III center experience, charge nurse experience.
- Additional Information: The PACU is a 28-bed unit providing 24/7 peri-anesthesia care for patients undergoing various surgeries. Nurses must be competent in airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration, and titration of vasopressors. The role includes floating to other PACU, pre-operative, ICU, and sister facilities within scope as needed.
- Certifications Needed: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, CPI certificate (required for compliance).
- Vaccinations: Flu vaccination required; no exemptions.
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week minimum, with scheduled weekends and on-call shifts.
- Submission Requirements: Must hold an active MD or Compact RN license; CPI certification required; comply with vaccination and credentialing policies.
