Lead Valet Attendant ($16/hr + tips) - Elliott Hospital

Job Summary The Guest Service Captain orchestrates the service experience for hotel guests while working alongside coworkers to ensure that the site’s service standards are met or exceeded. Under the direction of the Account Manager, the Captain also handles coordination, administration, crisis troubleshooting, and provides guidance when the manager is absent. Compensation & Schedule Hourly base pay: $16 per hour plus tips. Schedule: 7am – 3:30pm. Responsibilities Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, client staff, and coworkers; greets guests within 30 seconds to create a favorable first impression. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors, checks in arriving guests, explains parking and retrieval procedures, parks and retrieves vehicles with care, and remains composed under pressure while handling complaints. Uses proper phone etiquette; positions appropriately when not assisting guests; conducts effective room presentations; assists with delivery and pickup of items to guest rooms; provides directions, taxi reservations, and other inquiries. Maintains detailed knowledge of the client’s facility, including outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, main attractions, parking rates, and related information. Promotes a teamwork philosophy; leads the work group, assigns routine roles, and, when directed by the Account Manager, reduces staff during shifts in response to business conditions. Issues claim checks to guests after receiving vehicle keys and collects all claim checks before issuing keys; records ticket information, key tags, guest folio, parking location, damage surveys, and claim check receipt for all vehicles in the valet system. Secures all keys using a belt clip or locked key box. Ensures staff provide no “lift” services but offer a hand for assistance; checks, cleans, and safeguards wheelchairs; protects guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements; secures customer financial and identifying information. Assists the Account Manager with schedule building, schedule calls, and revenue collection for all vehicles; prepares accurate cash drop slips and envelopes; completes shift reports and paper work; reconciles revenue and tickets at shift end. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Age: Minimum 18 years. Background: Must pass a criminal background, MVR, and drug screen. Training: Complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park. Experience: Six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Driving: Able to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Language: Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing Standard English; able to comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence. Presentation: Able to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to guests, clients, and associates. Reasoning: Able to apply reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Mathematical Skills: Add and subtract three‑digit numbers; multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; perform operations using units of American money; understand 24‑hour and military time; understand rates applicable to time passed. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Work requires regular talking or hearing, sitting or standing for extended periods, and may include running, walking, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, and crawling. Tasks require close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Lifting up to 100pounds occasionally or 50pounds frequently. Work is performed outdoors for extended periods, with exposure to extreme heat or cold; protection from weather conditions may or may not be provided. Up to 5% travel may be required.
