Complete patient education regarding the procedure2. Promote privacy and monitor patients’ well-being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate actions.3. Performs radiologic procedures as ordered. Uses lead markers on all exams4. Prepares and assists the Radiologist in the completion of fluoroscopy examinations5. Follows techniques in administering general and specific X-rays, adjusts equipment, and determines proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time. Arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain the position of the patient.6. Provide proper radiation protection for patients and staff.7. Evaluate X-ray images for technical quality and label them appropriately.8. Perform daily gown laundry9. Transports patients within the facility as well as to and from the waiting area as required.10. Prepares and maintains radiologic records, files, and technical worksheets11. Completes appropriate documentation related to the study12. Performs quality control functions related to radiological studies13. Follows infection control and safety guidelines14. Performs Bone Density scans as needed.15. Performs daily laundry16. Performs related work as required.Job Requirements/Qualifications: ARRT Certified and have a Tennessee State LicenseEducation: Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic TechnologyExperience: One year of full-time experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Maintains a high degree of accuracy in X-ray positioning and exposure techniques while adhering to established quality and safety standards. Exercises sound professional judgment, ethical decision-making, and critical thinking in all aspects of patient care. Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients, providers, and members of the healthcare team.Licenses/Certifications: Valid ARRT Registration and Tennessee Medical X-ray Operator License. CPR certificationWorking Conditions: Work is performed in an outpatient imaging department and involves direct patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Radiologic Technologist frequently interacts with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals while maintaining a high standard of patient care and confidentiality. The position requires adherence to radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards. May be exposed to communicable diseases, blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.Physical Demands: Requires a full range of body motion, including frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity. Must be able to assist with lifting, positioning, and transferring patients when necessary. Requires normal vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices, to safely perform patient care duties and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr Paycom
