Coding Specialist

Medical Coding Specialist Ensemble is a leading provider of technology‑enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems, including hospitals and affiliated physician groups. Key Responsibilities Review medical record documentation and accurately assign ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, CPT IV, and HCPCS codes for all outpatient work types using 3M software tools. Apply appropriate charges, such as Evaluation & Management levels, injections, infusions, and other requirements for observation cases, utilizing third‑party software such as LYNX. Perform medical necessity checks for Medicare and other payers in accordance with payment guidelines. Monitor and manage accounts that are Discharged Not Final Billed, failed claims, stop bills, and epremis to ensure timely and compliant claim processing. Maintain productivity and quality standards, including key performance indicators for 3M 360 CAC, CRS & Direct Code, and accuracy metrics. Stay up to date with CMS National and Local Coverage Determinations, modifier assignment guidelines, and other regulations to submit clean claims the first time. Utilize coding tools such as 3M encoder, CAC Medical Necessity software, abstracting systems, code books, and reference materials. Report coding software inaccuracies and potential unethical or fraudulent activity to HIM Management/Supervisor. Attend required system, hospital, departmental meetings, educational sessions, and complete annual learning programs to ensure continued education and growth. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of coding experience. Proficient in EHR systems, preferably EPIC, and coding software tools. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic navigation skills. Excellent organizational, communication, time‑management, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet short‑ and long‑term timelines. Open to innovation, including the use of AI tools to improve processes and client experiences. Radiology and Urology Location & Travel This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
