We are passionate about our values, which include respect for conservation, a mindset of lifelong learning, and a diverse and inclusive work environment that encourages professional and personal growth.The Landscape Technician is responsible for performing general landscaping & maintenance tasks on properties and equipment managed by the Tennessee Aquarium.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintains the cleanliness of the grounds, parking lot, walkways, water features, and buildings on the Aquarium PlazaGrounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, trash pickup, pressure washing, landscaping and irrigation systems maintenanceOperates and maintains the three water features on the Aquarium Plaza which will include pumps, filters, and water quality managementFacility and grounds lighting; re-lamping and minor repairsPerforms general maintenance tasks on facility finishes such as handrails, door hardware adjustments, and paintingPerforms preventive maintenance and minor repairs on air handling equipment; change filters, clean coils, fan housing, fins & unit interior, and belt replacementPerforms work in a manner that fosters the Aquarium's mission and reflects its core values and service standardsKey RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredValid driver's license with a clean driving record preferredCertified Pool Operator Certification preferredSelf-motivated, with good communication skills with the ability to interact with co-workers and guests in a way that promotes our core values and service standardsMechanical aptitude for facility and grounds maintenanceEnjoy working outsideQuick learner with attention to detail.Ability to work alone while staying on taskPrevious grounds maintenance, facility maintenance, or construction experience preferredBasic computer skills: accessing email and internet preferredFull-time, hourly ($17.00/hour); must be able to work some weekends and holidays as needed, as well as a flexible schedule.
