Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

Description Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks an experienced Supply Chain Procurement Specialist to join the Armament Systems Business Unit in Mesa, Arizona. Armament Systems specializes in integrated medium‑caliber weapon systems for land, air and sea platforms, including the Bushmaster automatic cannons produced at the Mesa facility. Responsibilities Sources and procures specialized goods and services. Owns contractual management for suppliers. Manages source selection from contract proposal through execution. Coordinates with contractors, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, and end‑users. Develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services. Prepares bid packages, conducts bidder conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects/recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts. Evaluates and monitors supplier quality, reliability, and delivery schedules in conjunction with the quality organization. Identifies strategies to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations. Manages subcontract performance, ensuring compliance with public law requirements, company policies, and import/export regulations. Assesses supplier performance through follow‑up activities. Ensures documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse for receipt. Develops and manages strategic/key suppliers. Approves supplier payments as necessary. Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, & continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications This position emphasizes skills first. At least 6 years of direct experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a relevant field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field plus 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree. Preferred Qualifications Experience with FAR/DFAR. High‑value subcontract management experience. Knowledge of Costpoint (a plus). Salary and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $59,600.00 – $89,400.00, depending on scope, responsibilities, experience and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and, for VP or Director roles, Long‑Term Incentives.
