Senior Graphic Designer (social media)

This is not a siloed design role. You'll wear a lot of hats supporting multiple departments in a fast-paced environment. As a freelance Senior Designer, you'll be a core creative partner to our Development Producers on originals and series, as well as our Brand Partnerships team helping concept and fulfill branded, editorially-sponsored content, and deck builds when needed. What You'll Do Develop logos, show opens, title treatments, visual identities, and brand systems for new shows/IP as well as explainers and data visualizations that are production ready to hand off to edit Establish the overall visual language of a project including but not limited to color, typography, texture, composition, references, and how the brand translates on screen Own and elevate the visual identity for NowThis across original series, social video, branded content, marketing, and editorial initiatives ensuring each show/property has a distinct, cohesive look that still feels connected to the broader NowThis brand ecosystem Create or oversee on-screen graphics and motion design including lower thirds, transitions, animated elements, social packaging, and other editorial GFX, as needed Maintain our design system, templates, and toolkits to ensure consistency across platforms Partner with Sales to ideate and execute on sponsor requests, RFPs, pitch decks, and custom branded content Lead by example with best practices for graphics and editing workflows; run training sessions for producers and editors Manage your own pipeline, prioritizing multiple projects under tight deadlines without sacrificing craft Success Will Look Like Elevation of NowThis' storytelling through innovative visual thinking created to be viewed across social platforms You can take a project from sketch to final delivery Producers and Sales trust you as a go-to problem solver who can translate a vague ask into a strong visual solution Our brand looks more consistent, more dynamic, and more modern because of your work You bring a solutions-oriented and collaborative energy to every brainstorm Must-Haves 4+ years of professional experience in graphic design, in digital media, social publishing, or branded content Exceptional reel/portfolio showing strong concept, typography, and branding work for social platforms Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator Proven experience designing for social-first video (9x16, 1x1, 16x9) and understanding what makes a great thumbnail Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners including producers, editors, and partnerships teams Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and confidence presenting work to stakeholders Motion design skills, including After Effects and animation for title packages, transitions, lower thirds, and explainers Experience with project management tools like Airtable Nice-to-Haves Illustration or 3D skills Experience in defining how physical environments look on camera, including sets, locations, props, furniture, dressing, and overall visual cohesion Pre-production visual development including building moodboards, treatments, visual decks, and references that give production and creative teams a clear visual target before shooting On-set/post creative oversight including providing visual oversight through production and post-production on highly visual projects #J-18808-Ljbffr NowThis
